OKLAHOMA  PROJECTS 

 

The Swing - Student Film Capstone Project

 

The Swing is a student film capstone project; a short film that will run approximately 20 minutes in length.  Filming dates are currently scheduled for August 30-September 7. All roles are non paying. Please contact film director Jennifer White for more information at auntjenn25@yahoo.com.

Sarah McGeary - early thirties, blonde or with blonde highlights, Sarah's husband is leaving her and she has a 6 year-old daughter to care for
 
Michelle Brown - forties (or late thirties), confident black woman, caseworker for Adult Protective Services
 
Mrs. Henderson - fifties or sixties (retirement age), gray/graying hair, patient Alzheimers volunteer from church
 
The role of Sarah is needed immediately.  If someone is interested in any of these parts, I will be available to audition tonight  (8/26) after 8:00pm at OCCC.  They can call my cell phone for details.  Production dates are August 30-September 1 and September 6-7.

Cast of characters:

 

EMMA MCGEARY – Main character.  Junior college graduate, parentless, responsible for the care of her declining grandfather.  Mid 20’s, blonde/dirty blonde, white.

 

CHARLIE MCGEARY – Emma’s grandfather.  70-something but actor needs to play two versions of himself: both a mentally in-tact 60-something year-old and an 80-something year-old suffering with Alzheimers.  Was a farmer, but now confined to Emma’s small apartment.  Widower, white.

 

MRS. SANDERS – Elderly neighborhood busy body.

 

MARY – Emma’s co-worker, professional.

 

MR. HARRIS – Emma’s boss, executive.

 

POLICE OFFICER – Information officer at precinct front desk, “round.”

 

MICHELLE BROWN – Adult Protective Services social worker.  No nonsense, intelligent, capable, black.

 

SARAH MCGEARY – Emma’s mother.  Late 20’s/early 30’s, blonde, white.

 

6 YEAR-OLD EMMA MCGEARY – Emma as a child.  Intelligent, loves to play on a swing set, tow-headed or dirty blonde, willowy.

 

AUDREY MCGEARY – Emma’s grandmother.  60-something.

 

TONI BALDWIN – Middle-aged support group leader.

 

WAITRESS – (non-speaking)

 

MRS. HENDERSON – Middle-aged church volunteer for Charlie.

 

EXTRAS – Co-workers, police officers


THE NOTE: Student Film Capstone Project
 

The Note is a student film capstone project that will be approximately 5 minutes in length. Filming dates are still to be determined, but will most likely occur on a weekend (Saturday & Sunday). All parts are non-paying. Auditions will be held September 13th & 14th in Oklahoma City. For more information please contact film director Ilea Shutler at iloo@rediffmail.com.

The film is about a shy, geeky boy who writes a note to a girl he likes in class. His teacher, who hates students, especially this particular one, catches him and decides to have some fun torturing him. In the end, the boy finally decides to stand up for himself.

 Adam Gibbens – 15 year old high school student. Shy and reserved, but confident in himself. He breaks when Mr. Beetlebaum pushes him too far, and finally stands up for himself. Actor does not actually have to be 15, anyone who looks about 15 years old is free to audition. 

Mr. Beetlebaum – An old curmudgeon of a teacher who takes an evil pleasure in torturing his students, especially Adam. Older, bald. 

Macy Kess (non-speaking) – The girl Adam pines for. She’s much more popular than Adam, but still a very sweet person. Actor does not actually have to be 15, anyone who looks about 15 years old is free to audition. 

Neil (non-speaking) – Adam’s friend, whom Adam tries to wrangle into helping him lie his way out of trouble with Mr. Beetlebaum. Actor does not actually have to be 15, anyone who looks about 15 years old is free to audition. 

Extras – 14 & 15 year old students. Actors do not actually have to be 14 or 15, anyone who looks about 14 or 15 years old is free to audition.

Kathy Wickline Casting in Philadelphia is seeking QVC Program Hosts

We are looking for friendly, credible, energetic hosts, who can connect with the QVC viewer, while presenting products in a relaxed, courteous, soft-sell style. They need to be able to speak to the camera, as if talking to a friend, and have the perfect mix of personality, sincerity, energy, and sophistication. Successful hosts are fun, bright, quick on their feet, good listeners, and have emotional maturity. Our viewers like to spend time with hosts who bring interesting life experiences to the job, and can talk to them in a conversational, positive, and entertaining style. The program host position is a full-time position. Relocation is required, to Philadelphia area, as well as a willingness to work overnight shifts.
